I could be in Florida right now.
But I'm not, because I am SO COLOSSALLY STUPID.
I misread the itinerary and thought that my flight out of Fairbanks left at 11:35 a.m. But that's the time it was scheduled to arrive in Seattle, my first stop in the Journey Home. My flight left at seven. Now, I'd been up since 5:30, finished packing, putzing around and bored but not wanting to be too-too early...AND IF I HAD BEEN TOO TOO EARLY I'D HAVE BEEN RIGHT FUCKING ON TIME. STUPID STUPID STUPID!
Now, it's a $22 taxi ride from where I live to the airport, which meant that I had to spend ANOTHER $22 to get home. When I got home, the door was locked. Luckily, the taxi driver was a gentleman and was waiting for me to get inside before he left, because I called the on-post shuttle twice to get a ride to the PX (so I could wait in not-temperatures-in-the-teens) and got their voice mail three times so I wound up paying $7 for a taxi ride from my place to the PX. (I left my suitcase on my front porch because you can do that on post.)
For all I knew, I'd be waiting until Chris got off work at seven, but--duh--he does get a lunch hour. So he picked me up around 12:30 (I'd been at the PX since 9:45) and took me home and I went to bed because I was exhausted because I'd stayed up packing and not given myself much time to sleep so I'd be able to sleep on the plane. I slept wonderfully, which is not the norm.
So you'd think that I'd be nursing a massive crying headache right now, from a day-long breakdown. But I'm not. Yeah, I'm just as surprised. :P There was some tearing-up at the airport, but I made a conscious effort to tamp it down. Or it could have been the reading. I was just at the Main Adventure of the Star Trek TNG book I was reading. Distractions FTW! Luckily I brought the book that comes next with me because I was nearly halfway into that next one by the time Chris picked me up. But, I dunno. I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to go. And I still do. I dunno if it's the Effexor (this is just my second day on it) or just having comfortable seating and a good book throughout my Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day. Anyhow, I'm glad. I do have a headache, but it's the same headache I've had for weeks now. And it's at a low ebb at the moment.
I no can has a Fizzy tonight, but I can has a TV and I can has an Internet...so I guess I'll catch up on my LJ flist. I'm still on the 9th.
Edit: CAN HAS a Fizzy! I feel better already. :)

Ugh, I know those breakdowns well - I feel like I'm skirting the edges of one lately.

Thanks. I'm in Florida now, but I was really pissed at myself. I wouldn't have blamed my dad for saying "well, you blew it" and that being that. But over the next two days he spent three hours on the phone and got me a flight and a few more days than the original trip was scheduled for.
I hope you feel better soon. *squiiiish*
