Five Things Meme
There was this meme - leave a comment and I will give you five things to write about in your journal. Here are my 5 from
sdmrks10.
beauty
lonely
work
friendship
religion
Beauty
I see beauty everywhere. People, places, things... Especially people and sunsets. And the nice thing about sunsets is that they don't mind my staring problem. :)
Lonely
There's a difference between being alone and being lonely, and because I'm okay with being alone (and because Chris and I have done the long-distance thing before), this deployment hasn't been as hard on me as it's been on others. But it has been terribly lonely, and I'm so grateful to the Reids and to my online friends for keeping me company. He's coming home soon (like in a week!), but I won't abandon y'all, I promise!
Work
It's been SO NICE to be employed again. I hate being unemployed. Work makes me feel useful, and it's a safe feeling. When you can support yourself, it means you don't have to rely on anyone else. A no-duh statement, for sure, but even though Chris is happy that he can support me, I still feel like a freeloader.
Friendship
Unless you're a total hermit, a life without friendship isn't one worth living. Even people like me, who are fine as loners, need human interaction once in awhile. Also, I think the best significant others start out as friends. Chris was my best friend long before we got together, long before we married. He's still my best friend. My other best friend is Fizzy, whom I'm also in love with, and even though her love back is platonic, it is still a hella-strong bond. And to my other friends, Pam, May, Amy, Corie, and all the rest: I adore all of you.
Religion
Religion is what people used to explain things before the advent of science. Since then, it's been obsolete but unfortunately very popular.
