Today was crazy, but for once I wasn't. (Well, not much. :P)
This is adapted with minor editing from today's marathon chat session with Fizzy, 'cause I didn't feel like writing the same events out again. :P
I worked the fair again today. Was a crazy day.
I got up half an hour later than I'd planned to, so I had to rush to shower and dress and be out the door to pick up Laura, but when I got there she said she'd be by later, because her babysitter flaked out on her (i.e., her dad --.--). So I went on to the fair.
And on the way, I realized I didn't have a ticket, and even concessionaires need tickets to get in. So when I got there, I called Nancy and she said to wait for her to get there with Jade. That was 10:00 am.
I waited until 10:40 (by which time I'd caught up with text tweets and was reading my book) and called again. Nancy said it'd be a bit more and to go get something to eat. (Found out later she thought I was already inside the fair and meant that, but whatever.) So I went down the street to the cafe above Gulliver's books and got overpriced, mediocre (but still quite okay) breakfast and went back.
Jack (Nancy's husband) met me at the fair when I got back with a ticket and $10 for Laura's cab. So I got to stand outside the fair and wait again. :P
So Laura arrived and it was 11:30 as we went into the booth. Once I was there everything was fine, and it was a good day. I enjoyed being there, the work and all. I think I got more customers than they would have, 'cause Laura and Jade sit in the corner and talk, while I stand in the window of the booth and greeting people who I see outside looking at the menu.
And then Nancy called and said for me to go to the shop and make cucumber sauce because Caleb hadn't showed up to, so I left the fair (alas) and when I got there Caleb had arrived and Nancy said I wasn't needed. Alrighty then.
Got my first paycheck, that was very good too. Less than I made in a week at Kash n' Karry, but for 2-7 hours a day...not bad. :D
Had to cash it at Wal-Mart 'cause MAC FCU wouldn't, though. Whatever. Can has moneys I earned MYSELF! :D
Got home, cable and internets were fucked, so I went out to GCI and the girl who helped me was all well, it should be working, though they're updating the phone lines around your building...
And when I got home everything was working. :)
