orbitaldiamonds: Rose Tyler from DW, text: "bugger" ([ dr who ] rose: "bugger")
Nice trim, a tiny bit of layering, and bangs. (Pictures as soon as I find my camera.) I'm not really happy with how it came out, but it's just hair and it'll grow and then I can go back (to a different hairdresser) and get the bangs look that I want.

This is the first time I've had bangs since I was a child. I'm still getting used to it.

I took the on-post shuttle to the PX and had to wait an hour and a half before I could get in to get my hairs did. So I went to the PX and got a book (SuperFreakonomics) and a mocha ice thingy from Baskin Robbins, and sat in the eating area near the teevees, which were showing FNC (ugh), because my phone is totally kaput and I needed to know the time. So FNC actually did something useful for once--it told me what time it was in the four main US time zones, and the math to get Alaska time is a no-brainer.

The shampoo felt really good (yay scalp massage!) and the cut went well, despite that it kind of looks like the cheap haircuts that parents seem to always get their developmentally disabled daughters. (Come on parents, everyone deserves some style.) But when the bangs grow out a bit, I'll get a more tapered bangs look.

I couldn't get ahold of the shuttle bus to get back home after much calling. Eventually I listened to the whole voice mail message, and it had been changed from when I'd called to get there: now it was saying that there'd be no service between 3pm and 7pm. Well damn. But the lady who did my hair was nice and gave me a ride home when she got off work at five. :)

I'm tired but don't feel like going to bed yet. I'm catching up with Countdown at the moment and realizing that Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) reminds me a bit of Fizzy in facial features. :P (That's more a compliment to Sen. Collins than the other way around.)

Speaking of Fizzy, I made a really dorky gift for Fizzy before leaving for the PX but I haven't asked her yet if she wants it right then or on her birthday (which is in March), so for now I won't ruin the surprise. But suffice it to say, it's adorkable. ^_^

Um...that's all I can think of to say for now. Wow, I really should make general life posts more often. This is a journal, after all.
